Going to Spain and seeing the Islamic architecture as well as learning of the history of our Muslim ancestors was certainly educational and beautiful. I also was pleasantly surprised by something I hadn't heard before - at least two of the tour guides pointed out how grateful they are to the Muslims who came to Spain during a dark time. Spanish history was made richer with Islamic culture, arts and language and without this, Spain would not be the country it is today. I was so in awe hearing this and felt an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude, considering the geopolitical climate we live in today. Additionally, I have not laughed as much as I laughed throughout this retreat! It was such a delight and so rejuvenating. If anyone knows me, they know I love to laugh and be goofy. Our group got along so well and we made great connections. It was also quite heartening to see how much we all helped each other throughout the trip. This was absolutely the best part, aside from just being in Spain, of course. I loved seeing each of the gorgeous cities and what makes them unique (Sevilla, Córdoba and Grenada). Grenada by far was superb, with the Alhambra of course, but also the mountains and beaches. I highly recommend a Moxie Living retreat because I felt that I was cared for throughout, not only by the lovely Moxie Living Ladies (Bisma, Shireen and Fareen), but also by my fellow retreaters. This was my fourth retreat; it will be hard to say no to future retreats!
I had a great time and met many great women!
